Is Elie Berreby the Search Engine Marketing King? Is he a cybersecurity researcher? Could he be a senior SEO n00b as his official Linkedin title suggests?

Nobody knows except the Fortune 500 companies and European groups he advises regarding enterprise and global SEO. My guess? He is a n00b!

Google’s AI mode: I scraped it, I rewrote it, I kept the traffic!

Google’s approach is damaging the entire online ecosystem.

When you steal content and traffic, you also steal engagement.

At its core, Google has always been an advertising company.

Yesterday, Google could achieve ad revenue by ranking websites.

Today, Google’s goal is to boost its ad revenue by using your content.

Yes: your content will be used to answer search queries and display ads!

You see, Google’s AI overviews were just a test run to understand how to place ads in a more evolved generative AI ecosystem.

The result?

As soon as publishers and content creators share their creations, Google’s AI scrapes it and says: “Thanks, it is mine now!”

Actually, there’s no “thanks” but you get the idea.

Google is trying to keep users in its ecosystem.

Users have no incentive to click and leave.

This isn’t a sustainable business model.

Without engagement, impressions might rise but clicks will go down.

If the trend continues, the click-through rate (CTR) of most will decrease.

Less clicks mean fewer interactions and less revenue for website owners.

If revenue crashes for most publishers, there will be less incentive to create.

The life of many creators today?

AI answers, no clicks, no revenue.

I appreciate a lot of people working at Google.

I have had fantastic interactions with most.

Some have told me they didn’t like my content.

Some told me they were BIG fans (surprise)!

I appreciate honest feedback, but opinions won’t influence me.

There must be a way to nurture innovation without killing creativity!

The upcoming “UI updates” aim to understand how to place Google Ads in AI answers generated using YOUR content…
